How DHL Imports Were Affected by IEEPA Tariffs
DHL is one of the largest customs brokers in the United States, clearing millions of shipments annually. If you imported goods through DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, or DHL eCommerce between April 2025 and February 2026, the IEEPA tariffs were applied to your entries at the time of clearance. DHL's customs brokerage arm processed these duties on your behalf, but the importer of record — your company — is the party entitled to the refund.
Getting Your CBP Form 7501 from DHL
To file for your IEEPA tariff refund, you need your CBP Form 7501 entry summaries. DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Customs Services retain these records and can provide them upon request. Contact your DHL account representative or reach out to DHL's customs brokerage division directly. Request all 7501s for entries between April 2, 2025 and February 20, 2026. Tariff Arrow can also help you obtain these documents as part of our service.
Why DHL Won't File Your Refund Claim
DHL's customs brokerage handles import clearance — filing entries, classifying goods, and ensuring compliance. Filing IEEPA refund protests is a different service entirely. Most DHL brokerage offices are not proactively filing protest claims for their clients due to liability concerns, resource constraints, and the specialized nature of post-ruling recovery. This is exactly why dedicated recovery services exist. Tariff Arrow specializes in this process so DHL importers don't have to navigate it alone.
